CRDA hires a consultant to review the Beijing platform on gender
CRDA in Collaboration with Eastern Africa Sub Regional Support Initiative for the
Advancement of Women (EASSI) has hired a consultant to compile a National and NGOs Reports on the
implementation of Beijing Platform for Action which aims mainstreaming the twelve critical areas of
concerns.
W/z Azeb Terefe, Assistant Coordinator of Gender Forum in CRDA
announced that the consultant’s report will mainly focus on two areas of the most progress and two areas
the least progress of the twelve critical areas of the concern of the Beijing conference which was held
in 1994.
The consultant is expected to submit the draft review of the report to CRDA and EASSI in the near future.
It was learnt that the Beijing Convention was signed by the Ethiopian government ten years ago.
