A Workshop to be organized on Deepening the Participation of CSOs in the NBI Projects and Processes
The Confidence Building and Stakeholder Involvement Project (CBSI) of the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) and the Ethiopian Nile Basin Discourse Forum (EtNBDF) are jointly organizing a one day workshop on April 24, 2008 that helps to deepen and concretize the civil society activities and roles under the NBI efforts.
The workshop also helps to deliberate on the participatory identification of the levels of, and mechanisms for CSOs participation in the projects and processes of the NBI so as to lead the NBI to be more fruitful and successful initiative.
Moreover, the workshop is proposed to bring together representatives of more than thirty Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) most of which are members and clients of the Ethiopian Nile Basin Discourse Forum.
The participants are expected to directly and actively involve in the identification of the levels of CSOs participation in the NBI and in the designing of clear mechanisms for their participation at each relevant level.
