  Organizational Objectives and Services of CRDA

Organizational Objectives
As an umbrella organization, the objectives of CRDA are:

  • Facilitating collaboration among members and between members and others in the pursuit of common ends;
  • Supporting and coordinating dialogue, and exchange of information;
  • Supporting member organizations in building their capacity;
  • Enabling members to speak with coherent collective voice on matters affecting them and their constituencies;
  • Representing and speaking for the interest and rights of its members, the poor and excluded;
  • Engaging in policy research and analysis, helping members advocate for their cause; and
  • Raising professional standards, including evaluating and certifying effectiveness of members.

  • Organizational Structure
    The organizational structure of CRDA has the following three key organs that govern and manage its operations:

  • The supreme body of the Association is the Membership Assembly composed of all CRDA members. Decisions are normally made by a simple majority vote (over 50%) of those residing and voting at the meeting.
  • A Board, which consists of nine individuals each representing a member organization and elected by the Assembly, serves as a policy-making organ of the Association. One thirds of the seat in the Board is reserved for women; while the rest is open for contestants from both sexes. The Board is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Secretariat, overseeing overall finances of the Association and overall engagements of the Association. To this end, it establishes ad-hoc and standing committees as deemed necessary.
  • The Secretariat, headed by a Director, is the implementing arm of the Association responsible for executing policies, guidelines, programs and other strategic and day-to-day operations. It is accountable to the Board through its Director. The Secretariat is organized in such a manner that the realization of key operations articulated in the Program Plan is possible.
